QRNational is the state’s largest carrier of livestock operating a scheduled service connecting key locations across Queensland which gives our customers the ability to plan ahead.

The strict scheduling and the highest level of rail priority means cattle arrive at processors on time and in prime condition.  Our schedules are updated to cater for seasonal peaks and troughs.

We also offer the highest quality in cattle handling and our staff and contractors are trained in the latest techniques of handling, feeding and care of cattle.  

Our customers are also offered the option of additional services which include feeding to customer specifications, spelling, weighing and dipping at the Stuart spelling facility.

We have linked key transit points with scheduled services to reduce transit times and increased service reliability by eliminating shunting.  Simultaneously, document tracking ensures our customers get the required paperwork at the unloading destination.

The sugar syrup business is seasonal, running between June and November each year, and QRNational rails approximately 150,000 tonnes per annum. The syrup is produced at a mill near Arriga and railed to Babinda for further processing. Up to 14 train services per week operate, providing sufficient capacity to clear the mill's weekly production levels.

QRNational rails approximately 150,000 tonnes of bulk molasses per year from Northern mills to Sarina and the Darling Downs. This business is best categorised as full block train operations, primarily focussing on long haul services.
