Goonyella Rail Expansion Project

The 924km Goonyella Rail System in Central Queensland services 30 coal mines in the northern Bowen Basin. Coal is railed to the Port of Hay Point, south of Mackay, where it is exported through the Hay Point Coal Terminal (HPCT), operated by the BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA), and the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal (DBCT), operated by DBCT Management. Coal Loss Management Project

QR National is continuing to establish a Coal Dust Management Plan in collaboration with the coal industry which will implement a number of coal dust mitigation methods. In consultation with the each industry sector of Central Queensland Coal Supply Chain and the Queensland Resources Council, Network Services developed a Coal Dust Management Plan (CDMP). This was approved in early 2010 by the Department of Environment and Resource Management. More
