ENGINEERING GRADUATE OPPORTUNITIES
Civil Engineering (projects, construction, design)
As a civil engineer at QR National, you will have the opportunity to use your professional skills in urban or regional areas, and in a variety of fields of operation including earthworks, bridge construction and laying rail track. Graduates can also be involved in project work, scheduling, design, and on-site coordination of project work.
Mechanical Engineering (rollingstock projects, design, maintenance)
Be a part of a design team who are responsible for the design, modification and maintenance of our Rollingstock fleet and specialist plant equipment. You will also gain experience in project management, contract administration, monitoring fleet performance, fault finding, and reliability improvement.
Electrical Engineering (power systems, telecommunications, signalling)
In the field of telecommunications, signalling and operational systems, you can find yourself designing, manufacturing or maintaining major operational plant, signalling systems, or large scale infrastructure systems.
Engineering Degree Requirements
All applicants for our engineering roles must have completed, or be completing, their final year of an accredited Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree, with a major in one of the required engineering fields.
Professional Development
QR National supports and promotes your development with the following professional engineering programs:
- Engineer Australia's Professional Development Program,
- Chartered Professional Engineering (CPEng),
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
FINANCE GRADUATE OPPORTUNITIES
Our graduate accountants and business analysts manage income and expenditure and other operational accounting functions and are involved in the long term analysis and financial planning of a large corporate entity. You could also support tax and other business systems compliance activities.
As a finance-oriented person in QR National, you will be known for your ability to work within complex business systems. You will have the ability to create solutions that drive efficiency and possess the skills to ensure governance and risk are well managed. You will be known for your high class business analytical skills and possess strong business acumen.
Finance Degree Requirements
All applicants for our finance graduate opportunities must have completed, or be completing, their final year of an accredited Australian Bachelor Finance or Commerce degree.
Professional Development
QR National supports the two major professional accounting associations in Australia - CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA).
HR GRADUATE OPPORTUNITIES
As a HR professional with QR National, you will be work with line managers to develop programs to help build the capability of tomorrow’s leaders, create new governance management frameworks, assist managers with succession planning or run communication programs to help QR National’s people understand how they can make a difference to the organisation’s future.
