Program Structure

Once you commence your employment with QR National, you and your supervisor will work together to develop the structure of your apprenticeship by completing a training plan.

The training plan will outline the theoretical and practical competencies you will need to achieve in order to complete your apprenticeship, as well as outline how you will attain these competencies.

Your off-the-job training will ensure you gain the theoretical skills required to qualify in your trade. This training will be conducted at a registered training organisation, such as one of Queensland's TAFE colleges or within relevant QR National workplace.

You will also perform on-the-job training as part of your apprenticeship, where you will put into practice the skills and knowledge you acquire while at TAFE.

You will also benefit from working directly with our experienced QR National tradespeople who are highly skilled in your field and who are committed to encouraging you throughout your apprenticeship.  You will experience working within a productive team environment that values safe work practices that will add value to your training as an apprentice.

Apprenticeships may take up to four years to complete, however, it is possible that these timelines may differ depending upon your specific trade and your attainment of competencies.

Completing an apprenticeship with QR National will significantly prepare you for your future career within your chosen trade and will expose you to the many aspects associated with a globally recognised organisation.
